We offer a great variety of programs for people of all ages, including:


Driftless DialoguesA series of presentations from local experts on topics related to the Reserve.  Everything from non-native species to geologic origins, these presentations are a monthly view into the complexities of the Reserve, it's history, and it's ecological features. Wisconsin Master NaturalistThis program is supported by the Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension, and is designed to train a network of volunteers across the state to promote awareness, understanding, and stewardship of the natural environment.  For information on training at the KVR, see our events page.

Backcountry Basics: An Adult Summer Camp Geared Towards Women

Join in on a beginner level workshop for adults who want to sharpen their outdoor skills and gain confidence in the outdoors..

Spend three days and two nights immersed in the outdoors at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve.  

This experiential workshop will include on the trail and at the campsite hands-on experiences with navigation, personal safety and first aid, etiquette, outdoor ethics, gear, camping and eating all in a safe, guided environment.  

 

 Program is for adults only.  Children over 16 allowed to register with a participating adult. 

Limit 20 participants.

When: June 21-23, 2024

Where: At KVR Visitor Center

Cost: $150 for the program (overnights and meals purchased separately).

The Kickapoo Reserve Management Board acknowledges that the state and federal lands that comprise the Reserve fall within the ancestral homelands of First Nations people including the Hooçak Nation. We recognize the sovereignty of the Hooçak and other First Nations and will work towards a shared future by continuing to create collaborative opportunities to protect and preserve these lands.
