  • Small songbird
  • Male blue above, white below
  • Two white wingbars
  • Dark breast band, streaked sides
  • Female blue-green to olive above with
         whitish below and two white wingbars
  • White stripe over eye
  • 4-5" (11 cm.)

Habitat

  • Deciduous forest

Additional Information

  • Rare migrant and summer resident
  • Wisconsin threatened species
  • Often found high in the canopy
  • Winters in South America
  • Sometimes found on the Reserve in summer
