- Dark grey above, white below
- Black head, white throat
- White band at edge of tail
- 8.5" (22 cm.)
Habitat
- Open woodland, forest edge,
- Pastures, farmsteads
Additional Information
- Common migrant and summer resident
- Likes more open habitats than most
other flycatchers - Eats flying insects during summer,
also eats some seeds and fruits - Raises one brood per year
- Sometimes aggressive toward other
birds, including birds as large as Crows and Red-tailed Hawks
