- Brown, streaked back, plain grey-brown rump
- Reddish cap, pink bill
- Grey face with slight rufous markings
- Narrow white eyering
- Light unstreaked underparts
- 5.25-6" (13-14 cm.)

- Feeds on fallen seeds, will land on grass to
