- Bright yellow crown
- Bright yellow patch on wings
- Black bib
- Black around eyes with white just
above and below - Female similar with duller coloring
- 4.75" (12 cm.)
Habitat
- Deciduous shrubs, cutovers, may sing from elevated perches
Additional Information
- Fairly common migrant
- Wisconsin species of special concern
- Population in decline
- Hybridizes with Blue-winged Warbler
- Found on the Reserve during migration, no
longer a regular breeder in this area
