Lesser Scaup - (Aythya affinis)
Identification
- A diving duck which may occur in large
flocks or “rafts” - Males: Dull purple head, greyish back, white sides, black breast, tail, neck and shoulders with a bluish bill
- Female: mostly brown, white patches at base of bill.
- 17” (40 cm)
