Habitat
- Woodland, open areas for hunting

- Fairly common migrant, uncommon
resident - Very nocturnal
- Most observations occur in spring
migration upon hearing its call - Call is a monotone "tonk, tonk, tonk...",
resembling the sound of a truck back-up tones
