  • Brown streaked finch
  • Deep notched tail
  • Slender but sharp pointed bill
  • Males have yellow wing marks,
         some yellow in tail
  • Amount of yellow can vary

Habitat

  • Conifers and mixed forest

Additional Information

  • Common WI winter bird
  • Breeds in northern Canada and Alaska
  • Feeds on buds and seeds of
         birches and pines
