  • Medium-sized sandpiper
  • Brown back, light below with dark spots
  • No spots in juvenile and nonbreeding
         plumage
  • White stripe above the eye
  • 10.5" (27 cm.)

Habitat

  • Streams, wetlands

Additional Information

  • Common migrant and summer resident
  • Teeters or bobs while walking
  • Found foraging along river banks
         and sandbars
