Permits are required for the various visitor uses at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve. Activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing require a day use or annual permit.
Camping on the Reserve requires a separate permit; $15/night for vehicle access sites or $10/night for non-vehicle accessible sites.
All vehicles parked at river access sites; Landing 5, Landing 7, Landing 10, Landing 12, and Landing 14, must display a KVR day use, annual, camping, or vehicle parking permit.
Those actively hunting, fishing, and trapping on the Reserve are exempt from day/annual use or parking permits; however, if a sportsman's vehicle is parked in one of the above listed canoe landings, KVR permit must be displayed.
Disabled veterans and former POWs may obtain a KVR day or Annual Permit at no cost, by showing their DNR-issued trail permit or documentation showing they are a disabled veteran or former POW at the Visitor Center. This does not include camping.
Tribal members of the Ho-Chunk Nation may receive a KVR Annual Permit at no cost by presenting their Tribal ID Card at the KVR Visitor Center. This does not include camping.
All fee revenue is used to preserve, protect and enhance the Reserve! What you pay, stays.
The Kickapoo Valley Reserve Visitor Center is available for weddings, family reunions, graduations, memorial services, birthday parties, baby showers, and other ceremonies. Please review the Ceremony Agreement form.
