Parent-Child Class

New to the Reserve - This program is designed for caregivers with children ages 18 months to 4 years. In a supportive and welcoming environment, children and their caregiver enjoy free play in nature, seasonal crafts and circle time. A nutritious snack will be served as well. Parents will have the opportunity to get to know each other, and work on a simple craft while the children engage in imaginative nature based play. The class will meet outdoors at the Reserve, once a week, for two hours.

Details:

* Child attends with a caregiver

*Class meets weekly, Wednesdays from 9am until 11am 

*Each session is 8 weeks

*Children and adults should be dressed for the weather

Typical Schedule:

9am - 9:45am: Free play for the children, craft and reading materials for the caregivers

9:45am: Circle time; often with a story

10am: Snack time


10:20am - 11am short hike through a part of the reserve

11am: good bye circle

Instructor:

Susana Ruder, who also teaches our Forest Fridays program, will be teaching this class.



Cost:

    $125/child per 8-week session; scholarships are available.                 To inquire, call the education coordinator at 608-625-2965

    Minimum enrollment is 4 children, maximum is 10.

Refund/Cancellation Policy: Parent-Child Class will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment must be received to guarantee your child’s spot. If cancellation notice is received at least 14 days prior to the start, a refund will be given less an administrative fee of 25%.  If notice is received less than 14 days prior, no refund will be made. Registration implies permission for photos to be used on the KVR website or other publications (student’s name will not be used) unless the KVR receives notification in writing prior to the program.




The Kickapoo Reserve Management Board acknowledges that the state and federal lands that comprise the Reserve fall within the ancestral homelands of First Nations people including the Hooçak Nation. We recognize the sovereignty of the Hooçak and other First Nations and will work towards a shared future by continuing to create collaborative opportunities to protect and preserve these lands.
