Education

The  Kickapoo Valley Reserve offers a variety of immersive, hands-on nature-based learning opportunities for all ages that promote positive environmental values.

Our Visitor Center offers interactive museum exhibits as well as classroom space, but some of the most exciting learning happens on the trails and in the woods of our almost 8,600 acres of outdoor “classroom” space!  We provide structured hands-on nature education year-round.  Our programs include Saturday and evening public programs, school field trip experiences, and summer day camps for preK through middle school students.  There are new and exciting programs on the way - keep an eye out for new opportunities!

The Kickapoo Reserve Management Board acknowledges that the state and federal lands that comprise the Reserve fall within the ancestral homelands of First Nations people including the Hooçak Nation. We recognize the sovereignty of the Hooçak and other First Nations and will work towards a shared future by continuing to create collaborative opportunities to protect and preserve these lands.
